[News] 2PM’s Taecyeon Confirmed for Global ‘We Got Married’ with Gui Gui
After contemplating the offer, 2PM’s Taecyeon finally decided that he is onboard with MBC’s We Got Married.
On February 1, MBC announced that Taecyeon and Taiwanese star Gui Gui (Even Wu) will be married on the Global Version of We Got Married.
The Global Version of the show will have the virtual newlywed couple learning about each other’s diverse cultures and language. Taceyeon and Gui Gui are the first couple to be confirmed for the new edition of the show.
Gui Gui, born in 1989, is a multitalented star in Taiwan, who started off in the entertainment industry as a member of the girl group, Hey You. She later left the group and became an actress. She’s known as a K-Pop fan of Lee Hyori, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, and Big Bang.
On February 1, Gui Gui posted a picture of a plane ticket, announcing her visit to Korea, perhaps to start filming for the show.
The new couple's adventures are scheduled to be air in 41 different countries. The broadcast dates in Korea have yet to be announced.

KARA‘s Nicole and 2PM‘s Taecyeon are in talks to star in a ‘world version’ of the popular faux-marriage variety program ‘We Got Married‘, according to agencies responsible for both idol groups.
Taecyeon was reported to have been confirmed for ‘We Got Married’ earlier on with the news about the potential leave of Lee Joon-Oh Yeon Seo couple. Although, JYP Entertainment had later denied the news, they have revealed that the idol is actually in consideration for not the regular show, but the ‘world version’.
JYP Entertainment and DSP Media both confirmed that the two idols had received offers from MBC. “We received casting proposals for a world version of ‘We Got Married,” JYP Entertainment said. “But his casting has not been confirmed. We are in discussions with the producers.”
DSP also confirmed the talks, saying, “Although it’s true that she has been considered for a ‘We Got Married’ world version, nothing has been confirmed. We are discussing it with the producers,” they said, echoing JYP Entertainment’s announcement. “It seems like there will be a cast announcement soon.”
The ‘world version’ of the show has been in talks since last year, and once completed, will be broadcast in 41 countries and will include two couples who are from different cultural backgrounds, with one member of the couple from Korea and the other member being someone from overseas.

As previously reported, 2PM‘s Taecyeon is said to be in talks for a ‘world version’ of the popular faux-marriage variety program ‘We Got Married‘, and now there is word on who his partner may be if the idol does indeed star in the show.
According to a report, an insider from the Taiwanese entertainment industry revealed, “Wu Ying Jie [stage name: Gui Gui] has been confirmed to appear as Taecyeon’s on-screen wife on ‘We Got Married – World Version’… The contract has already been completed, and she is waiting for the filming date.”
Wu Ying Jie, who is also known as Gui Gui, is a Taiwanese singer and actress, who debuted as part of the idol group ‘Hey Girl‘. Since then, she has been active in the entertainment industry taking on acting roles as well as MC roles. She is also said to speak three languages including her native language as well as Japanese and English.
Regarding the report, JYP Entertainment told one media outlet: “Taecyeon is still not confirmed for the ‘world version’ of ‘We Got Married’. He is still looking over the offer… MBC has not revealed any information to us, so we don’t know anything [regarding his rumored partner]. As of now, Taecyeon is still looking over it.”
To another source, they commented, “Several stars are in consideration to become Taecyeon’s partner. Wu Ying Jie is one of them, but nothing is certain…. Everything will probably be confirmed next week.”
As mentioned before, the ‘world version’ of the show will star two couples with one member of each couple being from Korea, and the other member being from overseas.
Once filming is completed, the show is planned to be broadcast in many countries, but whether it will be broadcast in Korea as well, is unknown at the moment.
In related news, KARA‘s Nicole is said to be the other idol in consideration for the same ‘world version’ of ‘We Got Married’ and is currently in discussion about taking on the offer.

[News] JYP Entertainment refutes rumors of Taecyeon being part of a new couple on ‘We Got Married’
After rumors spread that 2PM‘s Taecyeon has been cast as part of a new couple on ‘We Got Married‘, the idol’s agency stepped forward to refute these claims.
“The rumors that Taecyeon will be appearing on ‘We Got Married’ as a replacement for a Lee Joon – Oh Yeon Seo couple are untrue,” said a representative for his agency. “He will not be appearing on ‘We Got Married’.”
Earlier, a media agency had obtained a tip from an insider in the broadcast industry, who had stated that the 2PM member will be replacing the controversy-fraught couple on the faux-marriage program.
