[News] 2PM's Nichkhun rumored to be a 'night emperor'?

Word around K-pop town is that 2PM's Nichkhun loves the nightlife, and the idol star came forward to clear up the rumor himself.

On the May 21st broadcast of 'Incarnation', a few of the 2PM members featured as guests and MC Kim Gu Ra used the golden opportunity to ask Nichkhun, "I heard you go out a lot at night, and there are rumors that people in Gangnam call you by the nickname, 'night emperor'.

Nichkhun responded, "I think I know why. It's because our boss used to have me come out. When he's out and meeting someone, he always tells me to come out too."

Chansung added, "He wants to show off Nichkhun, so he calls him and invites him out." When the MCs asked, "Just Nichkhun?" Chansung brought laughs as he said, "Yeah it seems that way!"

"By the way, we're not talking about J.Y. Park hyung here. We're talking about our other boss who is in charge of the business operation," said Taecyeon to clear things up for those who might misunderstand, bringing 'Ahhhh's and 'Ohhhh's from the MCs who had been thinking it was about J.Y. Park.

Nichkhun then added, "Before the rumor came out, I probably went out about twice a week [because of him]. But he apologized to me later when these rumors started circulating. Now instead of having me come out, he will just have me talk through the phone," bringing the topic to a close as the set laughed.

So it seems Nichkhun isn't much of a 'night emperor' after all!

Jun. K responded to the interview with a fully refreshing aura even while he was busy with the Korean performances.

He revealed the story behind his splendid sword technique, saying "I bought a fencing sword in Japan and was practicing silently since I had a tour in Japan until just before the premiere. I got many blisters on my hand."

[News] 2PM-MBLAQ-Shinhwa All Line Up with 'Sexy,' Why?

As the end of May nears and the temperature begins to creep up, clothes are starting to come off. Especially in K-pop, clothes are coming off fast.

Jay Park, who released "Welcome" back in April. was the first to welcome the approaching summer with his R-rated music video. Appearing shirtless and displaying his toned upper body, Jay Park got in his groove with actress Oh Cho Hee as controversy regarding the problem of adult content in K-pop mounted.

Interestingly, the baton of 'sexy' was relayed onto 2PM, Jay Park's former teammates. Coming back after a 3-year hiatus, 2PM is not holding anything back as they showed off their chiseled abs and bulky chests in their album covers.

VIXX, who debuted last year, released a seminude album cover on May 14. Immediately following their bold act was 7-men idol group, 100%, with another string of seminude photos.

The longest-lived idol group, Shinhwa, did not give an inch when it came to doing 'sexy.' Though they did not show any six-packs or bulging biceps, Shinhwa declared that they will show how sexy thirty-something year olds can be.

MBLAQ, set to come back early June, will be heading in the 'sexy' territory with emphasis on sensuality.

All in all, the recent trend of male artists toward 'sexy' seems to stem from the need to stand out from a crowd of similar groups that sing about the same things. The struggle to be unique will continue as competition keeps getting tougher and tougher.

[News] Nichkhun Volunteered at Facility for Disabled Children After His Drunk Driving Incident

On the recent episode of SBS’s “Hwashin,” which was aired on May 21, 2PM’s Nichkhun discussed the controversial drunk driving incident.

When asked how he was able to forgive himself, Nichkhun answered, “For the first month and a half, I stayed home and I couldn’t stand it. I thought if I continue to hide, I would go crazy.

Nichkhun continued, “I told our manager that I wanted to do something and I was able to find it. I decided to go to a facility for disabled children. At first, facing people was very difficult for me. Everyone’s gaze felt accusing and condemning. But then, I learned to be happy.

Nichkhun explained, “The children gave me hope. Despite the fact that they are disabled, they do not feel the discomfort. When I saw them playing happily like any other kids, I thought that I should not give up. It was a great experience for me.

He added, “I have worked hard as a member of 2PM for only one goal. You never know when you will lose everything, so I wanted to try my best. Even when I got tired, I was greedy and wanted to do more. Then this happened and I think this was a warning for me to stop and take a look around. Because I was running towards this one goal, I only looked forward and I forgot about everything else. I think this was an opportunity for me to slow down.

Meanwhile, Nichkhun was involved in a car accident while under the influence of alcohol in July last year.

[News] 2PM’s Nichkhun Dates through the Phone

Wanting to stay hidden, 2PM’s Nichkhun revealed that when he dates, it’s usually through the phone.

On May 21, Nichkhun, along with Taecyeon and Chansung, appeared as a guest on SBS’ Incarnation, where he was asked if the 2PM members are dating.

The 2PM members revealed that their ban on dating has lifted. MC Shin Dong Yeop remarked that they must have laughed in the background, since they’ve been dating this entire time.

But Nichkhun said that what he does can’t really be considered dating. “I’ll meet her, but we won’t date,” said Nichkhun, confusing the MC panel.

Nichkhun shared that when he meets someone, instead of outwardly dating, he usually just communicates through the phone or with texting.

The MCs wondered if it was because the woman in question was also a celebrity, which Nichkhun added, "I'm really scared of scandals. I'm scared of being seen with a woman."

Actor Lee Chang Hoon, also a guest on the show, then told Nichkhun, “You have to date a lot. That way, you can find the right woman.

MC Shin Dong Yeop agreed and told Nichkhun to listen to Lee Chan Hoon, since he’s the ancestor of scandals.
