2PM’s fifth single, Masquerade has been chosen as the opening theme song for Nihon TV’s music program, Happy Music.
Masquerade took the top three spots on Tower Record’s preorder chart, ever since preorders began on October 15.
For a total of eight days from October 15 to October 23, Masquerade ranked in first, second, and third place, demonstrating 2PM’s popularity in Japan. Due to the high demand, Japan’s Sony Music is in production to increase the number of singles.
The new single has been raising anticipation, even ranking in number one on the mobile ringtone chart Recochoku.
Masquerade was created by famous producer, NA.ZU.NA and M.I, who have worked with Japan’s Arashi, SMAP, Koda Kumi, and more. The song is a about a heartbreaking story of a couple in love.
In the revealed Masquerade jacket photo, the 2PM members are shown more masculine than ever. It’s said that the group will have special masks and costumes for the performances
Meanwhile, 2PM will be on its Asia tour concerts until the end of this year and are preparing for its Japanese arena tour concerts in 2013.
